Women's Healthy Intimacy Group

This is a weekly group that runs for 12 weeks at a time.  I approach intimacy through a systemic framework and explore love addicted and love avoidant patterns that were learned in childhood, and how those patterns are impacting adult relationships.  Love addicts assign too much value, time, and attention to another person, while neglecting to care for or value themselves. Focus on the partner is obsessive, and fear of abandonment drives the obsession. The love avoidant systematically uses relational walls during intimate contact in order to prevent feeling overwhelmed by the other person, associating "love" with duty or work. The love avoidant's greatest fear is that of vulnerability, which is explored throughout the workshop.

The purpose of this group is to intervene on the destructive cycles of both the love addict and the love avoidant, offering them intimacy with healthy boundaries.  Group topics may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Attachment patterns

  • Relational traumas

  • Boundaries

  • Co-dependency

  • Vulnerability and Shame

  • Emotional Sobriety

  • Destructive Relational Behaviors

  • Stepping into your Authentic Self

  • Karpman's Triangle - Victim, Rescuer, and Persecuter

  • Difference Between Wants and Core Needs

  • Healthy Sexuality

Healing Betrayal Trauma Group

Healing Betrayal Trauma Group

This is a 2 hour group that meets weekly and is for partners who have been traumatized by the addictive sexual behaviors of their partner.  This group provides a place for the female spouse to explore the pain and loss as well as begin a journey of healing in a safe supportive environment with others who can relate. When healing from Betrayal Trauma, a positive support network is critical as the beginning stages of healing can be isolating and lonely for the traumatized partner.

I offer a unique approach to treating relational trauma issues. Group topics may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Repair trust

  • Heal from the trauma of discovery

  • How to manage triggers and PTSD reactions

  • Cultivate a network of support

Aftercare: Addiction Recovery Group for Women

Aftercare: Addiction Recovery Group for Women

An effective treatment program can leave you feeling that your life has been transformed on all levels. While the changes in your body, mind, and spirit can be profound, they won’t last if you return to your destructive thoughts and behaviors.

An aftercare support group can be highly beneficial during recovery, as it can provide a network of similar individuals striving for sustained abstinence. This group is for those who would like a more structured approach to maintaining sobriety from whatever behavioral or substance addiction they struggle with. This group is ideal for individuals who are transitioning back into the "real world" from residential treatment or an intensive outpatient program and would like a deeper approach to continued healing as they face the challenges of a sober life.

This group will utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions, each with a specific purpose of continued healing. Focus of this group will include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Help you make healthy choices about your lifestyle, activities, and relationships

  • Continue to build upon and reinforce the skills you learned for coping with stress and strong emotions

  • Teach you how to identify and manage your own triggers and prevent a relapse

  • Teach you how to minimize the damage of a relapse if you do slip back into destructive behavior

  • Give you access to supportive individuals and groups who can help you through the recovery process

  • Continued healing of what drives your addiction

  • Support as you continue with family recovery

  • How to set and respect boundaries
