AAMFT Approved Supervision

Guiding emerging therapists toward clinical excellence and professional growth.

An AAMFT Approved Supervisor has undergone specialized training to ensure that supervision meets the highest professional standards. This credential ensures that supervisees receive structured, ethical, and clinically relevant guidance that supports their path to licensure and prepares them for long-term success in the field.

As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, Allison Hunnicutt, provides high-quality supervision for pre-licensed marriage and family therapists working toward licensure in the state of TN. With extensive clinical experience and a passion for mentoring, Allison offers a supportive, challenging, and growth-oriented environment where therapists can refine their skills, deepen their clinical insight, and gain confidence in their work.

Supervision Approach

Allison believes that effective supervision is both educational and relational. The process focuses on:

  • Clinical Skill Development – Strengthening therapeutic techniques, case conceptualization, and treatment planning.
  • Ethical Decision-Making – Navigating complex client situations with integrity and professionalism.
  • Person of the Therapist Work – Encouraging self-reflection to enhance therapist presence, boundaries, and emotional resilience.
  • Theory Integration – Applying systemic and relational theories to diverse client situations.
  • Professional Identity – Supporting the development of a confident, competent professional voice.
